In the George III style, the case with brass handle to inverted bell top, brass fishscale double sound frets to the sides, on brass squab feet, with foliate spandrels to the silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring signed BARRIE EDINBURGH, matted centre and blued steel spade hands, with strike/silent ring to the arch above, the eight day triple chain fusee movement with deadbeat escapement, hour strike on bell and quarter chimes on eight nested bells, repeat signature to the back plate with pendulum holdfast -- 20½in. (52cm.) high to fold of handle
