An English mahogany and inlaid longcase clock
The pagoda hood flanked by brass ball and spire finials, with outset front-fluted columns, the breakarch trunk door with oval inlaid panel and flanked by canted angles, the plinth raised on later bracket feet, the 11½in. square cut-away brass dial with conjoined scroll spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, silvered and engraved centre with arched date aperture, signed John Ramsbottom, the later applied arch with vacant convex plaque, the eight day movement with four pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell; composite, case, dial and movement associated, 18th century -- 87in. (201cm.) high
