A MEISSEN YELLOW-GROUND TEABOWL AND SAUCER
CIRCA 1740, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARKS, GILDER'S 28. MARKS, DREHER'S IMPRESSED QUARTERED CIRCLE TO TEABOWL AND ** TO SAUCER
The exterior of the teabowl and underside of the saucer with yellow grounds, the first reserved with two harbour scenes, one with figures by a dilapidated gate, within quatrefoil gilt band cartouches, the interior with a spray of indianische Blumen below a Gitterwerk border, the saucer with figures at discussion on quaysides before fine buildings, within a quatrefoil gilt cartouche edged with gilt and puce scrolls, husks and panels of diaper ornament, within a similar gilt border, gilt line rims (teabowl with minute footrim chip, very slight wear to gilt rim, saucer with areas of wear to gilding)
