Probably decorated by J.P. Dannhofer with a figure of an Oriental between a kneeling attendant and an exotic bird and another figure between a bird and a hound, among flowers and insects, the footrim gilt with a broad gilt bands, the rim with an iron-red band of geometric hatching edged with gilt scrolls and flowerheads, the fluted spout with gilt bands to the terminal and rim, the cover with a matching border (four small chips to inner rim of teapot, minute chip to tip of spout, slight wear)
