Signed Cornelis Uyterveer, No. 61. Circa 1710
The gilt movement with engraved cock and depicting a mythical figure with an animal, pierced and chased foot to the top plate, sector in the cock to reveal the pendulum, regulator scale below, decorative pillars with silver capitals, chain fusee, verge escapement, the silver champlev/ae dial with Roman numerals, arcaded minutes, outer Arabic five-minute divisions, decorative bronzed hands, the centrefield with a repouss/ae design of two classically dressed ladies, one holding a candle, the other a sword and both supporting a royal crown underneath a canopy, the letter G suspended from the crown, possibly commemorating the crowning of King George I of England in 1714, date aperture above the VI flanked by the signature, in plain inner case and outer case
