The case engraved with chrysanthemums to the dial plate and side doors, twin calendar apertures (lacking calendar rings) above the revolving gilt brass chapter ring with adjustable blued steel Japanese characters revolving against a pierced blued steel hand with brass button nut, the movement with rectangular brass pillars, going train with verge escapement and balance wheel oscillating above the plates and with adjustable sliding weights, the strike train with countwheel strike on a bell above, the wall bracket with detachable hood with later red silk sound frets
