Edo period (17th century), the katana signed Hizen kuni ju Omi Daijo Fujiwara Tadahiro, the wakizashi signed Omi Daijo Fujiwara Tadahiro
Sugata [configuration]: Honzukuri, iori-mune, chu-kissaki
Kitae [forging pattern]: ko-itame mixed with konuka with sumitetsu
Hamon [tempering pattern]: chu-suguha of nie
Boshi [tip]: Ko-maru boshi
Horimono [carvings]: Bohi around habaki-moto on both sides
Nakago [tang]: Ubu, kengyo end, file marks kiri, the katana: two holes, the wakizashi: one hole
In shirasaya [plain wood scabbard], the sayagaki written by Hon'ami Koson dated 1941.10
Koshirae [set of mounts] comprising: the katana, a black-lacquer saya with shibuichi nanakoji fuchi chiseled with a scene of Takasago (an aged man and woman holding brooms by a pine tree and waves) in iroe takazogan, signed Osaki Yoshiaki and with kao; a kashira of black lacquer; a shakudo nanakoji kogai framed in gilt with a koto in gilt takazogan; a shakudo nanakoji kozuka framed in gilt with a crane in gilt takazogan, signed Kikuoka Mitsumasa and with kao, a pair of menuki formed as war hats, scrolls and hats in gilt; a shakudo nanakoji tsuba with various family crests in gilt takazogan the rim with scrolling vines in gilt hirazogan; the hilt with a black band; 95cm. long; the wakizashi with a similar hilt; fuchi-kashira and tsuba; a shakudo nanakoji kozuka framed in gilt with a phoenix in gilt takazogan, signed Fukuda Masahiro and with kao; gilt menuki formed as pine leaves and Manzai dancers; 72cm. long
