An early 19th-Century 6½in. gauge brass and wrought iron model of the 2-4-0 locomotive 'Dunscar',
with riveted copper fire tube boiler with six tubes and fittings including regulator, level test cock, adjustable weight and lever safety valve, blower and clack valves. Chassis details include brass wheels, twin outside cylinders with inside Stephenson's link reverse, eccentric driven feed pump, connecting rods with gibbed and cottered big ends, wooden buffer beams, the pierced splashers with plates engraved June 16th Semper Indomitus 1888, finished in green and polished brightwork (some pieces missing and/or defective or detached) -- 39.5 x 89.5cm. (15½ x 31¼in.)
