With brass stop-fluted pillars to the hood and conforming pilasters to the trunk, later sound frets to the hood, with moulded panel to the plinth and on raised foot, the 12 in. wide brass dial with foliate spandrels to silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, silvered centre signed Benj. Ward/LONDON, subsidiary seconds ring and date aperture, strike/silent to the arch above, the eight day movement with five pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell; built up cheekboards -- 81 in. (206 cm.) high
