4° (254 x 183mm). Half-title, title and text printed in Tyrian red and black. 4 full-page wood-engraved illustrations and initials by and after Blair Hughes-Stanton, press device [Harrop 'Devices' 19] on title. Original crushed tan morocco gilt designed by Hughes-Stanton and executed by George Fisher, Gregynog Press Bindery, boards with bevelled edges, upper board with a broad L-shaped band of multiple gilt fillets and an oblong formed of multiple gilt fillets continuing across the spine onto the lower board, the lower board with a broad L-shaped band of multiple gilt fillets, gilt turn-ins, spine gilt in compartments and lettered in 2, top edge gilt (gilt very slightly oxidised, very slight superficial cracking on joints affecting gilt). Provenance: Thomas Jones (1870-1955, for whom see lot 255, by descent to his daughter:) -- Eirene Lloyd, Baroness White (1909-1999; sale, Sotheby's London, 21-22 July 1992, lot 352).
