A Fine Aikuchi Tanto Koshirae
Edo Period (19th Century)
Comprising a black lacquered saya decorated with sparrows in gold hiramaki-e, gold fuchi-kashira, kurikata and kojiri carved in various coloured high-relief with flowers, the fuchi signed Nobuyoshi (kao), the gold menuki formed as autumn flowers and quails, gold kozuka and gold kogai carved with chrysanthemums, signed Nobuyoshi (kao), overall length 40cm.
