A Stacking Picnic Set
Meiji period (19th century)
Comprising two cylindrical sake flasks and four sets of five-tier stacking fan-shaped food boxes, the wood stained reddish brown and covered in clear lacquer and with a floret crest in black lacquer on the cover of each component, the set designed so the stacking boxes fit together around the sake flasks to fit into the cylindrical storage box
