Of rounded form rising to a vertical mouth on short foot, the white exterior painted in yellow, green, light blue and red slip within black outlines with a central band of leafy tendrils linking red pomegranate shaped panels containing floral sprays, tulip sprays above and below, a border of linked ovals around the mouth, simple potter's mark on underside, rim chip

Lot Essay

The overall floral design found on this vase is similar to that on a rosewater sprinkler in the Suna and Inan Kiraç Collection (Sebnem Akalin and Hülya Yilmaz Bilgi, Delights of Kutahya, Istanbul, 1997, no.21C, pp.44-5).
