signed DOCTEUR ARTHUR CHEVALIER OPTICIEN PALAIS-ROYAL A PARIS with double draw-tube focusing and micrometer fine adjustment, the barrel on a short limb from the main column with simple stage with clips, aperture disc and concave mirror, on a circular base, with three eyepieces, five three-bead objectives in brass canisters signed Chevalier Arthur PALAIS-ROYAL (no's 3, 4, 5, 8, 10), stage-mounted bull's-eye condensor and a signed Chevalier drawing prism eyepiece attachment, the fitted oak case lined with red silk-effect paper and red felt, the pillow in the lid gilt-stamped with maker's details -- 29.8cm. (15 5/8in.) wide
