2o (392 x 273 mm). Engraved title vignette, engraved plates, numerous large woodcut initials, printed in red and black. Contemporary red velvet, covers with 4 large embossed silver (or silver plate) cornerpieces and silver bosses, and large center pieces, upper cover with the Holy Cross, lower cover depicting St. Jerome, two clasps, gilt and gauffered edges, red silk marker of 7 ribons (catches missing, light rubbing to spine and edges). Provenance: purchased from Roy Vernon Sowers, 7 July 1960.
