A Victorian Gilt-brass desk timepiece
In the style of Thomas Cole, retailed by Grohé, London. Circa 1860
The foliate engraved silvered dial with painted Roman chapters and blued steel fleur-de-lys hands, the movement with going barrel, four wheel train, lever escapement with three-arm steel balance, the case further engraved with foliage on a hatched ground and with hinged loop handle to the top, swivel stand to the base and spring-loaded easel stand to the back cover with engraved hinged escapement viewing cover, the case stamped 3034, the base of the case engraved Grohé No. 2484; together with the original red leather and gilt tooled travelling case with glazed cover
