An unusual Victorian carved mahogany quarter-striking drop dial wall clock, mid 19th Century
With carved bezel and with scroll 'ears' flanking a trunk door with cross-banded inlays, pierced side doors, with moulded bracket-shaped terminal, the painted dial with Roman chapter ring signed T. MILNER WIGAN and scene to the centre of buildings overlooking a bridge and a lake, gilt painted spade hands, false plate to the movement with shouldered plates joined by five pillars, twin gut fusees with anchor escapement, quarter striking on two bells and hour striking on further bell -- 33 in.
