A gilt bronze figure of Manjushri
Tibet, 16th century
Seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with hands in dharmachakra mudra, wearing a diaphanous dhoti secured at the waist, multiple necklaces, armlets and earrings inlaid with hardstones, the face with serene expression surmounted by a tiara, the lotuses on either side bearing the manuscript and sword, the base sealed and marked with an eight-petalled lotus incised with the eight auspicious emblems centered by a double vajra
