The seated Yakushi Nyorai (Buddha of healing) carved in single-block technique (ichiboku-zukuri) in the main section and hollowed out from the base (uchiguri), the front section of the sculpture carved and assembled from a separate piece of wood, the right hand in a gesture of bestowing fearlessness and the left hand holding a medicine jar, now lost, the robes open at the chest and draping across the left arm and the crossed legs, traces of gilding on the face and chest, the interior with an illegible inscription in ink
