The present cup, cover and stand, one from a set of six described as decorated with paysage et font [landscapes and ground color], is recorded as having entered the kiln for firing 23 October 1785, the painting given to Viellard, the gilding to Baudouin.

André-Vincent Viellard père is recorded at Vincennes and Sèvres as a painter specializing in figures, landscapes, trophies, patterns and flowers 1752-1790; his colleague François Baudouin père as a gilder 1750-1800.
