A Chinese carved ivory wrist rest, 19th century
the front carved in low relief with a lady in a boat across from a hut on the bank picking a lotus blossom from the river in a mountainous landscape, the reverse deeply carved with figures engaged in leisurely pursuits amidst bamboo and pine and rockwork including a woman seated on a swing, a scholar amidst rockwork, equestrian figures, a dancer and musicians -- 9¾in. (24.8cm.) high.
