A Chinese celadon and russet jade carving of a mythical beast, 17th century
the recumbent beast carved with its legs tucked underneath, the head with bulging eyes and nose, holding a lingzhi fungus spray in his mouth, with its tail flicked over his left rear haunch, the stone of pale celadon tone with russet inclusions -- 2¼in. (5.7cm.) wide.
