WITTGENSTEIN AT WAR: it was during the last year of the war, serving in an artillery regiment, that Wittgenstein began to develop his Tractatus. His collaboration with Engelmann in the design of a house in Vienna for one of Wittgenstein's sisters was to be a first step in his re-integration into intellectual life in the 1920s.
