Lot Essay

The sitter was the youngest daughter of Prince Frederik Hendrik and Amalia van Solms. She married George II von Anhalt-Dessau in 1659. For the identification compare with the portrait by A. Raguineau from 1661 in Schloss Dessau.

The present lot formed part of a series, portraying the children of Frederik Hendrik, which were seperated at the sale in 1971.
