A Japanese scalloped Imari urn and cover, late 17th early 18th century
with deep scalloped sides flanked by gilt ear-shaped handles, surmounted by a scalloped domed cover with a tiger and peony spray finial, decorated with variously shaped cartouches enclosing figures in landscape, peony, prunus and bamboo sprays, and pagodas in a mountainous river landscape, all amidst large chrysanthemum and tree peony sprays, the cover similarly decorated -- 11¾in. (29.8cm.) high.
