Ref. 5960 is the very first automatic wrist chronograph developed and manufactured entirely in-house by Patek Philippe. The new movement employs a clutch-wheel mechanism that eliminates the occurrence of backlash and jitter in the chronograph hand caused by the sudden meshing of gear teeth. This ingenious mechanism enables the chronograph hand to be used without hesitation and as a continuously running seconds hand for normal time indication. The new calibre is further endowed with the patented Annual Calendar mechanism and Power Reserve indicator.
