Arabic manuscript on polished buff paper, 304ff. plus 4 fly-leaves, each folio with 15ll. of black naskh, text panels outlined in gold and polychrome margins and rules, gold roundel verse markers with central dots, sura headings in white on gold ground with gold and polychrome floral illumination, marginal medallions marking every fifth and tenth verse, juz' marked in the margins in red naskh, opening bifolio with sura al-fatiha and the beginning of sura al-baqara surrounded by gold and polychrome illumination, preceded by a double page containing two shamsas with similar illumination on a ground of gold scrolling arabesques, the final bifolio with illumination surrounding the text panels, small areas of spotting or staining and marginal repairs not affecting the text, in brown morocco with stamped central medallion and repaired edges
