The inscription on the top contains a verse from the Gulistan of Sa'di and the signature of Haji 'Abbas. Round the body are verses in Persian in praise of the kashkul including the name of the maker, 'Abbas. It also includes the number 1202. Were this to be a date it would equate to 1787-8 AD which is too early for the style of engraving.

Please see the note to the previous lot which discusses the dating of these kashkuls in more detail.
