A SOUTH ITALIAN RED-FIGURE PELIKE
LATE 4TH CENTURY B.C.
The body with a profile female head on either side, wearing stephane and kekryphalos, a band of wave pattern on the neck, palmette and tendrils below the handles, details in added white; and an Attic black-figure lekythos, with the figures of three seated women, one holding a kithara, grape vines in the field, dotted rays on the shoulder, circa 520-500 B.C.
6 7/8 in. (17.5 cm.) and 6½ in. (16.5 cm.) high respectively (2)
