English private collection, acquired by the present owner's great grandfather whose collection was formed in the late 19th Century.

Lot Essay

An almost identical figurine was found with a model bed in a domestic shrine in House N.49.21 at Amarna, where it might have been the focus of domestic prayer for a successful pregnancy and delivery.
