YONGZHENG SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1723-1735)
With shallow rounded sides flaring outwards from an unglazed foot ring, the interior delicately painted in the center with a scene of two mandarin ducks swimming in a pond around a large lotus plant rising from the rippling water, the design repeated as a frieze on the exterior below a narrow band of six five-clawed dragons chasing flaming pearls, all within line borders
6 7/8 in. (17.5 cm.) diam.

Acquired by the grandfather of the present owners, Whampoa, Guangdong, circa 1890 - 1920s, thence by descent within the family.
