Lot Essay

The present sugar bowl and cover is most likely the example sold to Lazare Duvaux on 31 October 1753 and is recorded in the sales ledgers in the Sèvres archives as: 1 pot a sucre Lapis et or ois.(eaux) volans 60 (livres) (Vy 1 fol. 28).

The only comparable sugar bowl and cover recorded in the Livre-Journal de Lazare Duvaux (entry 1646) on 30th December 1753 to Mme.
