NEUCHATEL, CIRCA 1830/1840, MAKER'S MARK GT, THE FLANGE ENGRAVED WITH INVENTORY NUMBER 1146
Rectangular box, the hinged cover engine-turned with acanthus leaves on a sablé ground and centred with an applied enamelled medallion depicting a couple in fancy dress having their fortune read by a lady in red classicising dress, the border enamelled in opaque blue taille d'épargne with gold foliate-quatrefoil and stylised leaf paillons, the sides and base engine-turned with bright-cut lozenges on frosted ground, the base with rectangular bright-cut and acanthus borders, opaque blue and foliate paillon borders
