ATTRIBUTED TO FRANCOIS HERVE AND ALMOST CERTAINLY SUPPLIED BY HENRY HOLLAND, CIRCA 1791
The padded back, arms and seat with a squab-cushion covered in cream floral woven silk, the rectangular back and shuttered, downcurved arms with scrolled terminals and tapering turned, fluted and reeded baluster uprights above fluted blocks and a bowed seat, on tapering turned fluted legs headed by rosette panels and with sabre back legs, re-gilt

Provenance
Supplied to George John, 2nd Earl Spencer (1758-1834) either for Spencer House, London or Althorp, Northamptonshire.
Thence by descent to Charles, 6th Earl Spencer (1857-1922) at Althorp, where photographed in the Red Drawing Room in 1913.
