Cockade fans open at a full 360° circle and can be either pleated or brisé. They were ordered in China for export to England. There is a pair of carved ivory cockade fans with the coat of arms and motto of the Prince of Wales, dated circa 1790, which is in the Royal Collection, London, RCIN 3683.1.
