A LARGE ARCHAISTIC BRONZE CENSER
EARLY 18TH CENTURY
The body of the censer is decorated in relief with a wide band of monster-masks on a key-fret ground. There are a pair of mythical beast-head handles to the sides. The base is cast with a six-character Xuande mark surrounded by a pair of scaly dragons on a ground of crashing waves.
15½ in. (39.4 cm.) across the handles
