A SMALL LONGQUAN CELADON 'TWIN FISH' DISH
LATE SOUTHERN SONG/YUAN DYNASTY, 13TH-14TH CENTURY
The dish is potted with shallow rounded sides rising to an everted rim, the interior decorated in relief with a pair of scaly fish swimming in opposite directions, and the exterior moulded with lotus petals radiating upward from the foot. It is covered overall in a glaze of sea-green tone except for the foot rim.
