Lot Essay

Compare the laifu zun to a very similar example of comparable height in the National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C., illustrated in Decorative Arts, Part II: Far Eastern Ceramics and Paintings; Persian and Indian Rugs and Carpets, Washington D.C., 1998, p. 68. As with the present example, the neck of the vase has also been ground off.
