FOUR RECTANGULAR KESI 'DRAGON' PANELS
LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY
Each is woven in muted tones of blue, green, gold, apricot and cream with a five-clawed dragon chasing a flaming pearl amidst fire and cloud scrolls, bats and blossoming peony sprigs above rocks and crashing waves, all on a greenish-brown field with later brocade mounts.
33 in. by 17 in. (83.8 cm. by 43.2 cm.), framed and glazed (4)

From the collection of Llewellyn Jones (d.1947) and then by descent.
Acquired when he was travelling in East Asia during the early part of the 20th Century.
Part of the collection was gifted to the Victoria and Albert Museum c.1949.
