With double-edged blade of flattened hexagonal section cut with a central fuller on each face extending through the grooved oblong ricasso, each fuller flanked by a border-line and etched with the initials 'IHS', later iron guard of slender squared bars including two diagonal side-rings and short quillons each with pyramidal finial, well-made grooved wire-bound grip with Turk's heads, and 16th century grooved pommel forming seven roped flanges
