Persian manuscript on paper, 84ff. plus 4 fly-leaves, each folio with 14ll. of black shikasteh arranged in two columns with double gold intercolumnar rule, text panels outlined in black, blue and gold, catchwords, headings in white on gold ground surrounded by illuminated panels, text with 6 contemporaneous paintings, opening folio with text in clouds reserved against gold ground and with gold illuminated margins, the first folio with gold and polychrome headpiece surmounting text, preceding folio with later owner's note, areas of staining, tightly bound, in later European green morocco with restored brown borders, tan morocco doublures
