3 volumes in 2, 2° (465 x 283mm.). Half-titles, titles in red and black with engraved vignettes, 186 leaves of engraved views, maps, town-plans, bird's-eye-views and portraits (23 double-page), engraved vignettes and illustrations. (Occasional faint browning and spotting.) Contemporary calf, covers with narrow foliate gilt borders, spines ornately gilt with raised bands in nine compartments, brown and green morocco gilt spine labels, red edges (extremities rubbed, corners bumped). Provenance: A.H. Bright (bookplate).
A very good copy of the reissue, with Flemish text, of a work that was originally published by Blaeu: Flandria Illustrata (2 vols., Amsterdam, 1641-1644). A number of the larger plates are signed by R. Blokhuysen, the majority are unsigned. Brunet V, 121.
