STATUE DE BOUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI EN BRONZE
TIBET, XVEME SIECLE
The figure is seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base, with the hands in bhumisparsamudra and a vajra before him. He wears a diaphanous sanghati, the hems incised with a floral pattern and the folds neatly arranged at the shoulder and over the ankles. The face has a serene expression centered by a raised urna and flanked by pendulous earlobes. The hair is styled in tight curls over the ushnisha, with cold gold remaining on the face and neck.

Previously in a private Greek collection, acquired in the 1980s.
