Oblong 2° (346 x 453mm). An untitled series of 4 plates: 'The Cover'; 'Full Cry'; 'Check'; 'The Death', etched by Henry Alken and aquatinted by G. Hunt, printed in colour and finished by hand, tipped into an album. (‘Full Cry’ lightly browned at margins.) Contemporary tan half morocco and grey boards, blue morocco title label on front cover, spine gilt lettered. Provenance: purchased in Paris, 1947.
A SPIRITED, FINELY COLOURED SET showing the full sweep of the hunt across rolling countryside. The plate titles and publisher’s imprint are at the lower margin. Mellon/Snelgrove 19; Siltzer p. 60.
