THANGKA REPRESENTANT ARYAVALOKITESHVARA
TIBET, FIN DU XVIIIEME SIECLE
The thousand armed and eleven headed form of Avalokiteshvara is standing in samabhanga on a lotus dais. His principle hands show the anjalimudra while the others radiate around his body. His multiple faces are displaying partly a serene expression. The upper register depicts two groups of gandharvas extending offerings and the lower section with Sadbhujamahakala flanked by Shri Devi and Rakshavaktra.
