The necklace and earrings made of precious incense qinan wood, elegantly carved in beads. The necklace bearing five larger size beads with precious stones inlaid corresponding to the five elements – fire (ruby), earth (yellow diamond), wood (qinan incense wood), water (black diamond) and metal (white diamond). The earrings with diamond on one and ruby on the other; crafted by Shang Xia on the delicate 18K gold chain, Ren Gang over the claspe bead and dated yi wei nian.
In traditional Chinese medicine the five element theory represents fundamental elements in nature. In constant motion and change, they are what constitute the universe. The relationships between them, in particular an imbalance, are the basis for disease. The five elements principles can also be used to describe stages of life, directions, climates, seasons, and personality traits. Every individual is born with inherent personality traits that make each of us have a dominant element for our personality.
