A CELADON AND RUSSET JADE CARVING OF A BUFFALO AND A 'RAMS' GROUP
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The recumbent buffalo is carved with curved horns and its legs tucked beneath its body, the stone is of a deep celadon tone with striking dark russet striations. The group is carved to depict a recumbent ram with a young lamb nestled at its feet, the stone is of a pale celadon tone with some minor russet inclusions.
