AN IMPRESSIVE PAIR OF POLYCHROME LACQUER STANDS
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The tall 'chain-link' legs emanate from open-work geometric designs ending on elaborate S-shaped scrolls linked by further open-work geometric motifs. The canted bases have a central round aperture with similar designs. Each is painted all over in red and decorated in shades of black with floral designs. The tops are decorated with two birds perched on rocks and peony branches.

These lots have been imported from outside the EU for sale using a Temporary Import regime. Import VAT is payable (at 5%) on the Hammer price. VAT is also payable (at 20%) on the buyer’s Premium on a VAT inclusive basis.
