Joao Romao Teixeira, Terrantez 1860
Recorked in 2015 by OP. New wax capsules. Very slightly bin stained labels. Levels one 4, one 4.5, one 5cms.
Tasting note: First tasted in 2015. High toned nose of grapefruit, furniture wax, rose petals, bergamot fudge aromas. Good concentration. Fairly sweet for a Terrantez. Full medium sweet start of taste, clearly a long canteiro aged wine with concentrated acidity and minerality. Strong well-structured finish, touch spirity, I imagine this has spent at least 40 years in cask before being bottled. Intense wine. Later that year from a bottle presented at the pre-sale byob dinner in NY showing well with a direct medium depth taste. Good wine but not on same level as the 1870 and 1862. Last tasted December 2015. EV.
