A George III oak and mahogany longcase clock
the hood with brass-capped swan-neck pediment centred by an orb and spire finial, with harewood and satinwood line inlay above the arch, outset ringed and baluster columns, the trunk with conforming line inlay, wavy top door centred by a bird patera flanked by fluted three-quarter pilasters, the block plinth with raised panel and chamfered sides, the white-painted dial with Arabic chapters, spandrels depicting chinoiserie figures, signed Adam Burslem with painted subsidiary seconds ring and calendar aperture, painted rolling moonphase in the arch, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement, unstamped falseplate -- 88½in. (225.5cm.) high
